ArtAffect is delighted to welcome Kirsty Maclean’s work into our exhibition space! Kirsty Maclean is an artist working primarily with acrylics and metallic materials, creating abstract pieces that focus on reflection, light, texture, and colour. Her work is deeply influenced by the sea and the Scottish Borders countryside, blending serenity and vibrancy into her art. Exhibited works will be for sale and will include framed paintings and some set to prints in sizes A4 and A3. Entry to the exhibition is free.

Join us for a fun, hands-on needle felting workshop – all materials included! This is a fun, hands-on session of needle felting with the wonderful experienced felt artist, Kirsty Hand! This in-person event is perfect for beginners (no experience needed!) and those wanting to brush up their skills. Bring your creativity and make some cool felted art while enjoying a relaxed, friendly atmosphere (tea and biscuits included!). You’ll take away your own created felt owl to display in your favourite spot! We are really looking forward to the course and enjoying the morning.

Enjoy an informal and inspiring session of creative wire working and weaving in relaxed surroundings. This workshop is a wonderful introduction to making elegant jewellery—without the need for soldering, adhesives, or expensive equipment.
With step-by-step guidance from your tutor, you’ll learn practical techniques for wrapping, twisting, and basic weaving to create stylish and unique jewellery shapes.
You’ll begin by practising a range of techniques using copper wire, including:
* How to manipulate and shape wire confidently
* Selecting the right wire gauge and size
* Using essential wire-working tools
* An introduction to simple wire weaving techniques
No previous experience is needed. Anyone can learn these ancient and intuitive jewellery-making methods—some of the earliest examples of wire jewellery date back to the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs!
Materials Provided
All copper wire, crystal cabochons, and glass beads are included for practice and projects.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll discover how to:
* Incorporate semi-precious stones using different wrapping styles
* Twist and interlock wire to form stunning statement pieces
* Measure, bend, and shape wire around your chosen stones
After learning the basics, you’ll complete 2–3 projects throughout the day and take home your finished jewellery pieces.
