Intuition and Creativity with Vicky Inam at the Gledhill Arts Library, Saturday 19th September, 2.00-4.00pm
Explore the Gledhill Arts Library with creative therapist Vicky Inam in a warm, welcoming and completely beginner-friendly session designed to get you making art without overthinking it.
This is a follow-up to Vicky’s popular previous course, but available to past participants and new!Vicky will guide the group through a series of playful activities to kickstart your creativity, using the library’s almost 2,000 books on art and culture as prompts, ideas and inspiration. We’ll be raiding the shelves and seeing where they take us, experimenting with mark-making, free drawing and other intuitive ways of making. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or entirely convinced you don’t have a creative bone in your body, there’s no right or wrong way to do this - the point is to get out of your own way and see what happens.
As part of the session, you’ll get an introduction to the library and time to browse the collection yourself. Participants receive a library card and 6 months free subscription!
All art-making materials are provided, and you don’t need any previous experience.
