Creative Wire Working, with Margi Moffitt 9th May 10am - 1pm

Enjoy an informal and inspiring session of creative wire working and weaving in relaxed surroundings. This workshop is a wonderful introduction to making elegant jewellery—without the need for soldering, adhesives, or expensive equipment.

With step-by-step guidance from your tutor, you’ll learn practical techniques for wrapping, twisting, and basic weaving to create stylish and unique jewellery shapes.

You’ll begin by practising a range of techniques using copper wire, including:

* How to manipulate and shape wire confidently

* Selecting the right wire gauge and size

* Using essential wire-working tools

* An introduction to simple wire weaving techniques

No previous experience is needed. Anyone can learn these ancient and intuitive jewellery-making methods—some of the earliest examples of wire jewellery date back to the tombs of Egyptian pharaohs!

Materials Provided

All copper wire, crystal cabochons, and glass beads are included for practice and projects.

What You’ll Learn

You’ll discover how to:

* Incorporate semi-precious stones using different wrapping styles

* Twist and interlock wire to form stunning statement pieces

* Measure, bend, and shape wire around your chosen stones

After learning the basics, you’ll complete 2–3 projects throughout the day and take home your finished jewellery pieces.

Margi says: ‘Hi, I’m Margi – a passionate jewellery artist specialising in crystal wire wrapping. I’ve been creating with wire and stone for over  four years, and what started as a personal creative outlet has grown into a deep love for helping others discover this beautiful, mindful art form. I run relaxed and welcoming workshops designed for all skill levels – including complete beginners. I love guiding people through the basics of wire wrapping and weaving, and there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone leave with a piece they’ve created themselves – full of pride and inspiration to keep going.

My goal is to demystify the process, share what I’ve learned, and show that you don’t need fancy tools or years of experience to make elegant, meaningful jewellery. Just a little guidance, some copper wire, and your imagination.
